Widow Care Peer Support Group (Weekly Zoom Meeting)

******NOTE: NEW ZOOM LINK******* TONIGHT'S SUGGESTED DISCUSSION TOPICS: 1. What ways have you been able to express your emotions? - therapy, talk to friends, yell, cry, writing, journaling, creative expressions? 2. Share how you are navigating through life after the loss of your spouse. These are only suggested topics; the floor is open to anyone who wants to speak about whatever is on their mind. ******EVENT DESCRIPTION******* Our Peer Support Group has been hosted on a weekly basis via Zoom due to the restrictions arising from COVID-19. We will continue this on a regular basis even as restrictions are lifted. The virtual meeting is open to widows and widowers of all ages. We believe in the importance of having a safe space to open up about the pain and grief that stems from loss and finding support from others who have also suffered from loss - especially during challenging times like these. The goal is to focus on talking and listening to one another and lifting each other up. Agenda: -Discuss group guidelines to ensure safety and confidentiality -Icebreakers for participants to get to know each other and feel comfortable -The floor will then be open to anyone who wants to speak about whatever is on their mind-- resurfaced memories, grief, new relationships, whatever it may be. -Close out the session and offer materials, such as grief resources, other support groups, partner services, etc. We invite you to RSVP for this event to receive the link to join the call.
